| 10:00-10:25 Donna Fullman DONNA FULLMAN is a British Singer Songwriter writing transformational songs in pursuit of Truth, Beauty and Wisdom. Fresh from the Studio in the UK - Currently recording a full length album called INNER WORLD
Donna joins Eve Rising on her tour of the East Coast and hopes to return again next year from the UK. Primarily a vocalist and lyricist, Donna picked up the guitar later in life, using vocal melody to illustrate song ideas developed from poetry. She delivers spacious atmospheric songs that will melt your heart. With a rich diversity of song topics from the rise of China in 'Hello Shanghai' to the uplifting groove of Stone, you'll want to catch every word. With strong influences from 60s and 70s, most notably Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and John Lennon.
“With a sound that recalls classic Cowboy Junkies at their Trinity Sessions best, Donna Fullman’s Emerald Eyes is a track that allows the band to find the perfect pocket while Fullman’s plaintive voice is allowed plenty of room to work its soulful magic. Sparse yet powerful, the song showcases a solid lyrical foundation on which Fullman builds an unforgettable musical experience for her listeners.” ThatsFunkyAwesome - JAY MOON, CANADA http://www.donnafullman.com/

11:45-12:30 Diane Blue Band International performer DIANE BLUE has the "whole package" -- she is a strong vocalist, skillful harmonica player and a crowd-pleasing entertainer. Ms. Blue is a soulful and sassy performer from Boston who delivers the goods vocally and through her harp playing. In fact, juke joint legend Big Jack Johnson dubbed Ms. Blue “A Monster” on the harp after she performed as his guest star at Red's Lounge in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She belts out a funky soul tune, then she’ll sing a sweet ballad, just before she blows you away on the blues harp. “When she gets her harp & mic going, the language is hard hitting blues. Strong, confident and tasteful” says Domenic Forcella of Blues Beat. “Diane Blue's voice and harp playing are among the best around ,” declares Bill DeTellis in Boston Blues Society's Live Review.
COLLABORATORS Starting in 2008, Ms. Blue has entertained audiences across Europe with Roberto Morbioli and his Morblus Band from Verona, Italy. Ms. Blue has sung and played harmonica with international blues performers Ronnie Earl, Sherman Robertson and Luther Guitar Jr. Johnson (former Muddy Waters sideman), as well as Big Jack Johnson from Clarksdale, Mississippi and Irma Thomas (the Soul Queen of New Orleans). Ms. Blue performs regularly with notably accomplished musicians, the likes of saxman Amadee Castenell (who tours with Elvis Costello and Allen Toussaint), drummer Liviu Pop (who tours internationally with bluesman Lucky Peterson), past and present members of the Duke Robillard band and Roomful of Blues.
HONORS Ms. Blue won the Massachusetts Blues Society challenge in 2010 and competed in the 2011 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. She was nominated for "Best Female Singer" in the 2010 Blues Audience Readers Poll.

As the daughter of Ken Lane, Dean Martin’s accompanist, Robin was encouraged to nurture her musical talent. In the richly creative but blatantly chauvinistic folk-rock revolution, her musical peers were impressed with the talents of this “girl singer.” Robin moved to the east coast and eventually to Boston, where she was seized with the energy and passion of punk rock. She changed her writing style and vocal approach and carefully assembled a band she called The Chartbusters. In 1979, after considerable local success, she and the band were signed to Warner Brothers Records. The group had the 11th video ever played on MTV, did several national tours, and was voted one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s Top 10 New Bands of 1980. Despite their success, the band dissolved after only 3 years. When Robin announced her pregnancy, she was told “Once a woman has a baby in this business, she’s over.” Robin’s journey, from Hollywood wild child to iconic singer and songwriter, through her struggles as an artist and single mother, led her to develop “A Woman’s Voice” and “Songbird Sings,” therapeutic songwriting workshops designed to help incarcerated and abused women, elders, youth at risk and survivors of trauma tell their stories in song. Robin’s songs, and the music she helps others create, provide the soundtrack for a range of moods, thoughts, and obsessions. Her successes and failures, along with her determination to create, to sing, to touch other lives, and to live an authentic life, speak to the human spirit in a profound and universal language. Robin’s current work makes us reconsider the influence and importance of music in a culture where the forgotten voices often sing the most powerful songs. http://robinlanerocks.com/ 2:25- 3:00 Tara Greenblatt
"Tara hails from Boston’s vibrant folk scene and has been performing all over New England for over ten years. Matt Smith of Club Passim has called her an ‘innovator’. With a single djembe drum Tara pounds out foot tapping, rhythmic landscapes to back her effortless, melodic, and soulful voice. In a storyteller style, she draws you into life’s light and dark currents. Cross-cultural relationships, love, the earth, the joys of simple life, motherhood, and the struggle to be true to oneself, are just some of the subjects she sings about. Tara has been living in New Hampshire for the past eight years and within that time has found three stellar accompanists including upright bassist Ramsay Thomas, acoustic guitarist Lou Eastman, and harmony singer Kate Baker who have joined with her to form the 'Tara Greenblatt Band'. Her most magnificent works of art are her two young sons ages seven and two. She spends her time balancing motherhood and creativity, keeping her pulse on the mysterious force that calls her to craft songs. She is currently recording her third CD which she plans to complete in the summer of 2012. Along the way she has opened for and sometimes accompanied known artists such as Erin McKeown, Melissa Ferrick, Oen Kennedy, Susan Levine, and Edie Carey. Some recent shows and venues include Club Passim, the Mariposa Museum, King Hooper, and the 2011 Benefit for Rosie's Place. Her CD ‘River Belly’ (2005), and Tara’s debut CD “Caught Between the Woods and the Road” (2001) are both available online at www.cdbaby.com." 3:10-3:40 Karen Grenier With her fifth CD project "Crazy Love" due for release in October 2011, Karen Grenier continues to capture her audience's attention with her penetrating voice, rhythmic acoustic style and intense emotional energy. An excellent performer and songwriter, Karen was voted the 2009 Boston Pride Idol winner, performing on the main stage at the 2009 Boston Pride Festival. Karen was named a semifinalist in the 2006 Peacedriven Songwriting Contest and won a songwriting award from Nashville's Music City Search in 2002. In addition, several of her songs have been featured on the Dawson's Creek DVD. Karen has spent the past twelve years as a seasonal performer in Provincetown, MA. She makes her living both as a guidance counselor and a professional musician. "You've got to reach for your dreams...it's an attitude I've always tried to inspire in my students...now I'm living mine!" Karen has performed at festivals, coffee houses, restaurants and venues throughout the Northeast. No doubt, Karen will continue to draw in new fans with her catchy melodies, intimate lyrics and gutsy performances. For her, "It's all about being genuine and connecting with people. "If I can do that, I've achieved success." http://www.kgrenier.com/fr_sponsorthecd.cfm | | 3:45-4:20 Julie Dougherty Julie has been singing since the mid-sixties, starting with her sister, Kathy, perfo rming folk music at coffeehouses in the Boston area and were lucky enough to open several times for the Kingston Trio in the 70’s. Through the years since then, she has travelled much of the country singing Irish music, original folk-rock music, country-rock music in the 80’s, and have made several trips to Nashville, where she placed two original songs with two major publishing firms and almost moved there in the early 90’s....but Julie's roots are in New England! Julie also hosted a songwriting cable TV show, called Songwriters In The Round for three years, on which she featured many fine songwriters including Noel Paul Stookey, Chris Smither, and Al Kooper, to name just a few. "I spent a year and a half writing and performing in an original funk band in the Boston area, the Boston Horns and also explored some jazz and blues combinations. I really love all kinds of music and love singing as many styles as I can. I’m very lucky to have had plenty of work over the years and have recorded a couple of my own CD’s along the way…" 4:30-5:15 The Elle Gallo Band Elle is a working-like-crazy-stay-at-home Mom to 11 year-old Emma, 9 year-old Anthony and 7 year-old Joey. "It doesn't happen accidentally, isn't always easy and takes effort, time and a real commitment to the self...something that most women have given-up on in their quest to please and take care of everyone else. But there is no greater responsibility, and absolutely no greater reward than it's outcome. I CAN have it all, as long as I take care of my needs first."

The Erinn Brown Band is: Steve Peabody, Alison Keslow, Jay Aptt, Fran McConville, Jr and Erinn “2N” Brown. Their music is described as “Soul, Blues, Rock with Groovy Jams and Good lyrics – Originals and Covers with a Twist”. The core of The Erinn Brown Band is a group of 3 friends who met at Berklee College of Music: Erinn, Alison and Steve, who performed on and off together for years, until The EBB became solid. The Erinn Brown Band was completed with 2 lead guitarists, Jay and Fran, who sometimes have a chance to play together when the EBB is a 5-piece to create a beautiful weave of styles.
The Erinn Brown Band is finishing a new CD, titled “Ruled My Life” which was recorded with both lead guitarists.
Snippets of the new CD can be heard at www.Reverbnation.com/ErinnBrownBand . The Album will be released in the Fall of 2011. 7:15-8:15 Jen Kearney & the Lost Onion A smoke ring from a Cuban cigar wafts through a city kitchen as a soul singer croons on crackly vinyl; freshly diced onions sizzle as they hit the olive oil in Sunday’s morning’s pan...With a pungent mix of soul, Latin, Funk, reggae, and good ol’rock ‘n roll, Jen Kearney and the Lost Onion will take you into the kitchen to find that sweetness in the soul food you crave. “…Whatever you want to call it, Kearney and the Lost Onion provide a dense musical potpourri that is ever surprising…The Stevie Wonder comparisons that follow Kearney around are evident on tunes like “Pick Yourself Up,” while a more jazz/funk tune like “Amity” suggests Aretha Franklin joining Blood, Sweat, and Tears for a gig in Brazil.” (Jay Miller, Patriot-Ledger, 2/07) http://www.jenkearney.com/ | |
