Kevin has been playing/singing on the Northshore music scene since 1994. In 1994 at the age of 30, he formed The Catapillars, a rock and roll cover band as lead singer & bass player. The Catapillars still play today with limited shows in the area. In 2000 he and Dave Brouillette from Newburyport, formed Don’t Call Me Shirley, initially an acoustic duet which soon blossomed into the 5 piece rock band it is today. Shirley has played from Rhode Island to Maine, and all states in between, but is most known for their foothold in the Merrimac Valley. Kevin fronts these bands with a true passion for rock and roll music, and delivering an energetic performance to the audience that becomes infectious. Kevin says “I do this for the love of music, having fun, and therapy sessions”. | |
Stuart Ferguson is an exciting voice on Boston's thriving acoustic music scene. The Newton, MA native grew up in a musical family as a piano player and studied flute throughout his high school years. During college he left the realm of classical music to pick up the guitar and begin writing songs. By the late eighties Stuart was immersed in the Boston/Cambridge open mic scene that spawned a new crop of literate songwriters including Patty Griffin, Ellis Paul, Dar Williams, Martin Sexton, Jim Infantino, Jonatha Brooke, and Vance Gilbert. With influences as varied as Lou Reed, Joe Strummer, Woody Guthrie, Gram Parsons, and Luka Bloom, Stuart’s tenor voice displays broad emotion moving through a lyric to deliver songs that are stories and poems of personal struggle, both his own and those of the people who populate the landscape of his experience. Stuart has one self-released CD titled “Shackles & Ties” and is working on a new album to be released in 2010.
